Carey Dubbert has been playing music for 65 years. Though currently best known for his autoharp and hammered dulcimer playing, he has also played the piano, percussion, and bassoon. He has lived in Occidental with his wife, Ellindale Wells, for 35 years.
Terry Hallowes didn't start playing music till she turned 35, when her then husband, Chris Caswell came home from a tour with a fiddle for her. She has been a regular attendant at Lark in the Morning Music Camp and Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddle School. She has performed and toured with the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers to Alaska and around northern and central California and played annual concerts in the Bay Area. She plays mostly Celtic, but also enjoys playing French tunes. Before West of Malarky, bands she was a part of include, Little Fiddle Ceidlhi Band, and (with Chris Caswell) Road Kilt. She now lives in Graton with her husband Bob Bulwa.
Lisa Mathiesen was born and raised in Petaluma, got her first guitar for her 13th birthday. and has been making music ever since. For many year a singer and guitar player with local groups including Squatter's Rights, Perpetual Notion, Greenfire, Polkanomics and Gradina, Lisa took up the fiddle just before turning 50, and several years later added the banjo to her repertoire. Lisa and her wife Nyla have lived in Graton for 25 years, and currently share their home with Finley the dog and Snickers the cat.
Adding us all together, in summation, we've played a lot of music, and we all love pastries.
